Our Groceries App

The absolute BEST shopping list app around. Synchronization that works and all the features you could ask for.

I spent years looking for ways to organize the dreaded grocery shopping.  It always seemed that we were forgetting one thing or another.  OR my husband would go to the store and forget to mention it and therefore NOT get the items I KNEW we needed.  We did the paper lists but ultimately, just like the cloth shopping bags, we’d forget the list.

A few years back, I found a solution that has worked so marvelously for us that even my kids who moved out on their own still use the app.  I am not associated with this app but I have used it for years, LOVE it and ended up purchasing to support the creators.

Our Groceries is easily the simplest way to ensure you are on top of what you need to get at the store.  Where it is the hardware store or supermarket.  I’ve even used the app to create a list of what not to forget for trips.  My adult kids who moved out still use it.

Settings are easy to manage.

  • Lists are easy to create, edit and delete, as are items.
  • The app comes with preconfigured categories but you can edit, delete and add your own as well.  Then you can assign each item to a specific category, where it remains until you change it.
  • It is super easy to sync everyone in the family via the email address from the main account.

Initially, we created a list for each location we shopped at.  One for Harris Teeter, one for Lowes Foods. After awhile, I realized this made shopping tedious having to check too many lists.  So for food shopping, I just created a “Supermarket” list and a “Costco” list…the two main food trips we make.

Its super simple to add items to your list.

You can add an item by typing it in (for the first time…it is saved for future use once added) and by scanning the barcode on the product.

Click the Information circle and you can add more or less of the item, assign a category or add a photo of the product.  Which I like to do when my husband is shopping to ensure I get the right thing.  🙂

This is hands down one my favorite apps.  Whomever in the family is going to the store, tells everyone else and we all add the items needed to the list.  It just works.  My husband will sometimes laughingly complain that just when he thinks he’s done shopping, 7 more things pop up on the list!
